My name is Riley Tallent, and I am a senior at Auburn University, majoring in Culinary Management at the Horst Schulze School of Hospitality Management. My interest in pursuing a professional career in the culinary arts started in high school, where I completed a three-class series at Auburn High School under Chef John Everson. Prior to choosing culinary management as my career path, I gained experience at a culinary summer camp, held at Auburn University, and by completing the many steps needed for the cooking merit badge to complete my Eagle Scout requirements.
Through my culinary journey, I have discovered I prefer simple dishes that allow quality ingredients and preparation to shine to their fullest. After graduating from the program, I aim to work at locations that would allow me to truly elevate my skills and abilities. I see the gala as a step toward this goal as I get to work with and learn from accomplished chefs within the industry.
