My name is Maggie Newton, and I am a senior in the Hospitality Event Management program. Originally from Alabama, I knew I loved working with people, but I didn’t realize how perfectly the hospitality industry would combine creativity, leadership, and service. Over the past few years, I have had the opportunity to plan and support a variety of events, gaining hands-on experience in operations, guest experience, and event coordination. One of the most impactful parts of my college journey was studying abroad, where I was able to experience hospitality from a global perspective and see how culture influences events and service. I have also completed ServSafe certification and project management coursework to continue growing professionally. I am extremely excited to help plan and execute this year’s Hospitality Gala and create an unforgettable experience for our guests.
