Chef David Bancroft is a true southern chef who showcases local and sustainable ingredients with a nod to his Texas roots. He attended Auburn University’s Raymond J. Harbert College of Business and was the executive chef of Amsterdam Café from 2006 through 2011. His new chef-driven venture “Acre” opened in Auburn in September 2013. His commitment to using locally sourced ingredients has been recognized by Southern Living, East Alabama Living and Alabama magazines, as well as ESPN’s “Taste of the Town,” the “Buy Fresh, Buy Local” campaign, and several local publications. Chef Bancroft is a founding member of SlowFood Auburn University Chapter and The Front Porch Revival, and a member of the Southern Foodways Alliance. His culinary passion and commitment to his community redefines the principles of southern hospitality.
